Q&A
-
What do I need to do prior to my spray tan?Exfoliate 24 hours prior to your spray tan with a basic loofah or wash rag. Stay away from any heavy exfoliating oils. After showering DO NOT apply lotions, oils, or perfumes. Shaving should be done 12 hours before your spray tan. Streaks may be an issue in your final tan if you shave right before due to the wax from the shaving bar. Manicures, pedicures, and waxing should all be done prior to your spray tan. Make sure to bring loose fitting clothes with you for after your spray tan.
-
Time to rinse, what do I do?Absolutely NO soap. A really show rinse with luke-warm water is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer, and focus your attention to your legs, behind your arms, etc. The #1 cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days.
-
What do I do if I have streaks after showering?Hop back in the shower and do another rinse. If that doesn't help, rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab will help remove the streak. Keep in mind that it will also remove the tan in the area you apply it to and you will need to respray if that happens.
-
When can I apply lotion?Wait 12 hours AFTER your initial rinse before applying any kind of lotion. CeraVe is our favorite over the counter lotion. Moisturizing is the key to prolong your spray tan so moisturizing twice daily will give you the best results. It's also important to stay hydrated and drink lots of water throughout the day.
-
My tan isn't dark enough after I rinsed, what do I do?Wait 24 hours for it to fully develop after rinsing. If it's still not dark enough, you can respray over it.
-
I am too dark, what do I do?Try rinsing again, soak in a bath tub, or sit in a sauna/jacuzzi. These methods will remove some of the bronzer to lighten the color.
-
Can I still tan outside with a spray tan?Yes! The most important thing to remember is that the solution does not contain any UV protection/sunscreen. You will still be able to develop a tan naturally in the sun.
-
My skin is peeling, can I still get a spray tan?NO! You will be blotchy.
-
Will Jacuzzis, pools, or saunas remove my tan?Yes, it will remove majority of the tan and/or lighten it. Seawater, chlorine, and hot tubs can accelerate the fading of the tan. We recommend wearing waterproof sunscreen to help repel the water.
-
What do I wear to my spray tanning session? To the appointment: Loose fitting dark clothes. Nothing tight. During the tan: Bra/underwear, swimwear, or naked. Whatever you are the most comfortable with.
-
Can I spray tan if I am pregnant?YES! DHA is FDA approved and only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. There is no evidence that DHA is harmful to the skin. We use nose filters and protective eye glasses to ensure safety standards. However, we do recommend you consult with your physician first.
-
Can I spray tan if I just got a tattoo?Only if the area is completely healed.
-
Can my teenager spray tan?Yes, but must have parent's consent.
-
I have sensitive skin, can I still spray tan?Normally yes, but a waiver will need to be signed prior to getting spray tanned.
-
Will spray tanning stain my bedsheets, clothes, and/or dress?Yes, the first few days minimum cosmetic bronzer might minimally rub off on your clothes etc. But most cosmetic bronzer does rinse off. We suggest wearing black pajamas to bed and use a dark pillow case.
-
How far in advance should I schedule my spray tan before an event? The best time to get spray tanned before an event is 2-3 days prior.
-
How soon after my spray tanning session can I work out? Please wait 16-24 hours and we recommend additionally rinsing off prior to working out. This will wash away any remaining bronzer, which is the cosmetic portion of your spray tan.
-
Will I look orange after I get spray tanned? No, you will not appear orange with a Natural Glow spray tan. We use the highest quality solution and guarantee that you will not turn orange from our solutions. However, you MUST follow our pre and post tan instructions.
-
How long will my spray tan last? The length of your spray tan depends on the maintenance afterwards. Most people notice their tan beginning to fade after about 4-7 days. Moisturizing and staying hydrated are two important factors to support the length of your tan.
-
How do I know what spray tan "color" to choose? We are trained in color matching and will help you decide on the best solution and/or tone for you the day of your spray tan appointment.
-
How white will my teeth get?Individual results will depend on you current teeth shade, treatment time, and the composition of your teeth. After undergoing whitening, teeth shades brighten up to 12 shades, with an average of 6 shades with each 1 hour long treatment. Your end result will be a whiter, healthier smile. Everyone's teeth are different and will have a natural stopping point. We recommend a 60 minute session for optimal results and to remove all layers of staining.
-
How long will the whitening last? This varies from person to person and depends of your diet and lifestyle. However, with proper maintenance and periodic touch-up treatments, you can keep your smile looking great for a lifetime.
-
Is teeth whitening safe?Yes, the whitening gel formulation we us is an organic plant and mineral based product with built in enamel building qualities. Scientific research has shown that the active ingredients in our whitening gels are safe and effective. Our whitening equipment is FDA approved and has been used throughout the dental and cosmetic community for years. Our gel does not change or damage the structure of the teeth; it merely lifts and removes the stains, making your teeth whiter.
-
How long does the teeth whitening treatment take?Treatment times are 3 sessions at 20 minutes each. How many treatments you will need will depend on the discoloration of your teeth and how white you want them. It takes no longer than it would for you to have a haircut or a facial-it is that simple!
-
Does teeth whitening hurt?NO, because our signature laser gel is all natural, the treatment does not hurt and most clients experience no sensitivity. A very small percentage of clients may feel some tooth sensitivity , especially if they are dehydrated or consume very hot/cold foods or drinks within 2 hours after the whitening session. Any sensitivity is short term and gone within 24-48 hours. We do offer solutions for those that are concerned about sensitivity.
-
Will teeth whitening work on crowns and fillings?Yes, our teeth whitening will remove staining from existing dental work and take it back to the original color. Our goal is to clean up the existing dental work and whiten the natural teeth to match for a nice even smile. We cannot whiten them beyond the original color of the material used at the time of placement. If your existing dental work is not in your smile line it won't matter either way because it is not visible.
-
Why should I consider teeth whitening?Studies have shown that people with whiter teeth look younger and there is a correlation between high self-esteem and a bright, confident smile. Teeth whitening is a great way to instantly enhance your appearance.
-
Is teeth whitening for everyone?Teeth whitening treatment provides dramatic results for anyone who wants to whiten their teeth. This includes people with teeth that have been stained by smoking or by substances such as coffee, tea, soda, wine, and other consumable items. We also see great results on people with teeth stained by tetracycline, fluoride, and hereditary discoloration.
-
How is your teeth whitening different from dental office teeth whitening? The technology is the same as what you will see in a dental office. However, the teeth whitening gels we use for treatment are non-abrasive and the procedure itself has been simplified to ensure aesthetic professionals can perform it safely. It provides better results in gentler manner than other whitening procedures.
-
What do I do before my teeth whitening appointment?Floss super well leading up to appointment. DO NOT brush or floss your teeth within 4 hours of your whitening appointment. You may rinse with mouthwash. Eat prior to your appointment. You will not be able to eat or drink anything for at least 2 hours after your whitening treatment.
-
What do I do after my whitening appointment?Drinking water for the next 2 hours will decrease possible sensitivity. Avoid any other food or beverages for the next 2 hours. Do not smoke or chew tobacco for a least 2 hours. Avoid any dark colored food or beverages for 24 hours. NO coffee, tea, soda, cool-aid, red wine, tomato sauce, red meat, dark colored vegetable, or anything with heavy color for 24 hours. YES: Water, white wine, mashed potatoes, rice, white chicken, noodles, white cheese, cauliflower, or anything light in color is fine after 2 hours.
